Dam Ownership

Transferring Ownership of Parcel 165 and the Dam to the Lake Barcroft Watershed Improvement District

The Board of Directors of the Lake Barcroft Association (LBA) and the Trustees of the Lake Barcroft Watershed Improvement District (LBWID) are recommending transfer of LBA’s ownership of the Dam and the land it sits on (Parcel 165) to the LBWID, the Dam operator and easement holder. The main objectives of the transfer are: (1) to reduce/eliminate the significant liability exposure that LBA has as title owner of the Dam and Parcel 165; and (2) to facilitate potential sources of governmental funding for the upcoming Dam Embankment Armoring Project by the LBWID. The Lake Barcroft homeowners will be asked to vote on this important issue of transfer of ownership later this year. Prior to the vote, virtual information sessions will be held to answer questions related to this issue.  Lake Barcroft homeowners will be given notice of these information sessions and information about the voting process. To begin familiarizing yourself with details of this issue, the following Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) have been prepared.
